Copywriting in the Automotive Industry

Since the Winter of 2018, I have been working as a Copywriter at Dealer.com, a digital ad agency that is part of Cox Automotive. My job is to produce an array of well-researched and high-quality content from start to completion, meeting a strict set of deadlines on a daily basis. Leveraging official OEM websites and press rooms, my content is constructed to be accurate, relevant, and engaging while still being specific to the client’s voice.

With proper grammar, spelling, formatting, and HTML coding, my content is consistently built to be of the highest caliber, allowing my work to stand out from my peers. The quality of my work has allowed me to build a strong rapport with the company’s internal client-focused teams, which has unlocked opportunities to get involved in a collaborative process with high-profile clients to produce high-level content.

SEO Optimized and Formatted for Web

Making content easily digestible is vital for reader retention as well as ensuring that the content can be found by customers within a specific geographic region.

It all begins with headline construction modeled after common search terms. Content is broken down by model type, the advantages of buying versus leasing, as well as key details on what makes this dealership different from the competition.

Inventory Pages for New and Used Vehicles

Effective advertising on the latest vehicles is what drives sales at any given dealership. It’s vital to accurately represent a brand’s best features to properly match the target market.

What’s more, every dealership is different, particularly in regards to location. So finding ways to help regional customers understand how they can enjoy specific vehicles helps make every piece of content unique.

I’ve written blog posts on a diverse range of topics. These can be anything from highlighting the latest SUVs, service tips on preparing your vehicle for seasonal changes, or advertising classic luxury cars for sale.

Email Campaigns

After COVID-19 affected dealership business across the country, dealers started looking for new ways to get people into their stores. The solution? Buying up trade-ins as an incentive to finance or lease a new vehicle. My role in these campaigns was to write carefully crafted copy that could fit within (about) the length of a tweet.
